Creator fee calculator: what you actually keep

Enter your price and volume to see what you take home after platform fees and PayPal charges, compared with a platform that takes 0%.

Where you sellYou keep, per month
PokeShani — 0% platform fee, you pay PayPal only$941.00
A platform taking 10% all-in, like Gumroad$900.00
A platform taking your fee plus PayPal$891.00

With 10.00 at 100 sales a month, PokeShani pays you $492.00 more per year than a 10% all-in platform.

How this calculator works

Two fee structures get compared here, and they are not the same shape:

Set the inputs to match your own situation. The PayPal fields default to a common card rate, but your real rate depends on your country, your buyer’s country and the payment type, so use your own numbers.

The part most fee calculators hide

The fixed per-transaction fee does not scale with your price, and that changes the answer completely for cheap products. Understand this before assuming 0% always wins.

Worked example: at a $1 price with 100 sales a month you take home roughly $67 on the 0% platform, because the $0.30 fixed fee alone costs $30 across 100 transactions. A 10% all-in platform would leave you about $90.

Rule of thumb: the fixed fee hurts most below about $5, and stops mattering once your price is high enough that a percentage becomes the larger number. Check your own price in the calculator above before deciding.

What PokeShani charges

You do need a verified PayPal account that can receive payments. PokeShani is not a merchant of record, so tax compliance stays with you, and buyers pay through PayPal rather than entering a card on our site.

Frequently asked questions

Is a 0% platform fee always cheaper than a percentage platform?

No, and this is the most common mistake. If your product is cheap, the fixed per-transaction fee charged on each PayPal payment can cost more than a percentage platform would. At higher prices and higher volumes, 0% almost always wins.

What PayPal fee should I enter?

Use your own real rate. A common card rate is around 2.9% plus a small fixed amount per transaction, but your actual rate depends on your country, your buyer’s country and the payment type. Check your PayPal fee schedule.

Does this calculator include tax?

No. It compares platform and payment processing fees only. VAT, sales tax and income tax are separate and depend on your own circumstances.

Does PokeShani take a cut of subscription sales too?

No. The platform fee is 0% on both one-time purchases and subscription products. Payment still runs through PayPal with its standard processing fee.
